Natalie Wakefield
Natalie is originally from Provo, Utah. There she attended Brigham Young University, graduating with a degree in English and Dance. She was also a member of their world renowned formation ballroom dance team. Natalie has been trained in all forms of dance from the time she was 10; nevertheless keeping her focus primarily on ballroom dancing. She has competed in 10-dance, American smooth, rhythm, and theatre arts. She is a 4 time US Amateur Theatre Arts champion, two times US Amateur Latin semi finalist, 2 times US Youth Ten-Dance Champion, and a member of both US and World formation team champions; the Brigham Young University Ballroom Dance Company.
Natalie moved to New York in July 2008 to pursue her dreams of a professional career in competing and teaching ballroom dance. After being paired with Dawid Schulz together they have found quick success, placing in the top three of the rising star smooth in there first competition at the Holiday Dance Classic in Las Vegas, Nevada in December 2008. Throughout the year Natalie and Dawid have competed all over the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Setting there positions as finalists in Rising Star Smooth at the prestigious Manhattan Dancesport Championships of July 2009 and Embassy Ball Dancesport Championships in September 2009. They were also semi-finalists in the United States Dance Championships in Orlando Florida in September 2009.
Dawid and Natalie were selected to assist in the choreography for Vanessa Williams’ performance on the Emmys. Where she hosted and danced to her new single “Come on Strong”. Dawid and Natalie are committed to there craft. Finding a balance of attention not only to there professional careers but also to teaching. Ranging from ages 3 to all of the above.
